The Grimme KS 600 Six Row Topper is a fully mounted front and rear topping unit for topping either 6 rows or 3 beds. Designed to be a fully balanced unit, the front mounted topper has been cleverly designed to top the two rows directly in front of the tractor but also the sides of the adjacent rows. This ensures that the tractor wheels do not tramp in the haulm from these adjacent rows and are therefore topped before the rear units. The rear units ovelap at this point so the tractor wheeling's are clear of haulm.
All units are mounted into frames, which allow them to float whilst in work. In conjunction with individual shear plate per topping blade, the KS 600 creates an impressive suction and mulches the haulm. The mulched haulm can be directed into the row bottoms or the wheeling's depending upon the type of deflectors fitted.
Adjustable depth wheels ensure the correct topping height is achieved.
Ridge runner wheels can also be fitted to the topper to ensure that any cracks formed by the row tops drying out are filled in to prevent greening of tubers near the surface of the row.
The KS 600 can be used to top vegetable crops by using the blade configuration to suit bed growing systems.
In addition the to all these features the KS 600 has been designed to incorporate a sprayer system for flail and spray operations.
